Eagle's Rest Antler Carving

Nick Knuit

Nick has been carving one medium or another since he was 10 years old, when his blacksmithing father gave him a super-heated piece of metal and a piece of wood to keep him out of his hair.

Thus, his career as a carver was launched. Nick specializes in carving moose antler, better known as “Canadian ivory”, mainly featuring native flora and fauna. As he is not a hunter, Nick’s hunter friends bring him antlers, eager to see how he transforms them to works of art. Nick also enjoys carving antlers of fallow deer and some wood. His studio and environs are a wonderland in itself and worth a visit just to see his spectacular carved fantasyland wooden door.
