| I was born and raised in Campbell River and on Quadra Island. Art runs in my family, but I was not interested in any of it. I was not going to be an artist - well - I was wrong. I have worked with glass for sometime now and enjoy every minute of it. Mook, a professional glassblower on Cortez Island taught me during two workshops the basic skills and techniques of pipe-making and colour talk. But more importantly, Mook inspired me to pursue a glass career. In early 2005 I attended a soft glass bead-making workshop on Bowen Island. I work with borosilicate glass and soft glass (soda lime). My work is totally original, the patterns of pendants, small pipes, marbles and funky glass pieces change every day. For me the glass world is never ending yet always expanding. I can’t wait to see what the future will bring. I plan on traveling to Europe in winter 2005-06 and hopefully will make some good connection and work with some of the many great European artists" | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
